NEw Escape
Debut Album by Buffalo Galaxy
With their first release “New Escape” progressive bluegrass band Buffalo Galaxy presents a record meant to break the bounds of time. Nostalgic sounds and yearning for the past ripple through their music as they contribute to the future of bluegrass. Skyrocketing through space and time, Buffalo Galaxy drives forward with their spirit of discovery, exploring the outer limits of acoustic music while maintaining their grasp on the timeless energy at its core.
New Escape creates a new standard. More than the sum of the parts, Buffalo Galaxy creates bluegrass that is both rooted and modern. - Phil Nusbaum, Radio host of Bluegrass Saturday Morning
In their first year Buffalo Galaxy covered a lot of ground, taking their flavor of cosmic bluegrass to audiences across the west and midwest. The miles that they put on are present in the record as is the love of the people encountered along the way.
In “Time Machine” and “Like They Used To”, nostalgic yearning for things that were, tuning in to a static and fading signal from the past. The songs “Space”, “River Run” and “Darker Now” probe a darker side of human existence, with energy and jams that build us up in spite of the darkness. Finally the chorus of “Reds and White” brings us a bluegrass howl of 21st century heartache.
It’s been a year of endurance and with “New Escape” Buffalo Galaxy builds on the strength and endurance of bluegrass while reaching toward the next frontier.
